COVID (2019) - Huge Thank You To ADWU

Updated: Aug 19, 2020

I wish all our Muslim brothers and sisters in ADWU a blessed #EidAlAdha

May your sacrifices to these months be accepted and strengthen you during these difficult moments. Eid Mubarak!

We want to thank you all the Diaspora workers unionists for your continued support over the previous few months. The Covid-19 pandemic has affected the world’s population in a way we have never seen before.

At African diaspora workforce,  we're not left behind. We have worked extremely hard in the frontline services despite being disproportionately affected, bearing fair challenges and situation in which the management and response of the pandemic has resulted in the birth of a ADWU (African Diaspora Workers Union, U.K), which we would never have imagined having last year.

The impact on your choices to join and stay with ADWU is significant to us, this has led to numerous positive outcomes. One of the overriding principles through the union has been the focus on ensuring that as far as it is possible, all members will be required to make a choice of their monthly donation as soon as all legal structures and administrative offices are in place.

We reiterate our thanks to you for your professionalism, resilience and support for each other during this difficult time. We are aware that this has been hard and even with some of the support mechanisms in place, challenges have still been encountered.

We both work closely with other trade unions and learn the difficulties together.

Not every member will respond to the current situation in the same way, but we are committed to ensure each and every one of our members are supported adequately.

One area we have recently learnt is coaching and development of leadership and there is plenty of room for improvement.

The executive management will ensure that we all have an opportunity in the future live virtual meeting soon on our achievements among others discussions and agendas.

These dedicated sites are our first point of call and to gather more information, our Twitter page, Facebook and WhatsApp. Links are provided for all our members to join.

I wish all our Muslim brothers and sisters in ADWU a blessed #EidAlAdha

May your sacrifices to these months be accepted and strengthen you during these difficult moments. Eid Mubarak!
